Africa scaled

Oh yes, Africa is not a Country!

Africa is the world’s second-largest continent. The continent has about 1.5 billion people, 54 countries, approximately 3,000 languages (Afro-Asiatic, Austronesian, Khoi – San, Niger – Kordofanian and Nilo-Saharan), and 8,000 dialects!

You must have heard it a few times unless I live on a different planet. I listen to it everywhere these days, including the major media platforms like BBC, CNN, Al- Jazeera etc., using the term “Just from Africa”, “From Africa”, or “Going to Africa.”

I am from the continent of Africa, but my country is Nigeria. If and only if ( with a wobbly small I) the African Union decides to union and pronounce the United States of Africa, there is no country called Africa.

The continent has many famous people distinguished by their country of origin.

  7. Taytu Betul ( Ethiopia)
  8. Miriam Makeba (South Africa)

  10. Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi ( Zimbabwean)

My article about the rise of mobile telecommunications across Africa also gives further insight into the continent.

The final point is that Africa is a diverse, rising continent and an intelligent place to position your business strategically. I’ve been helpful.

From a professional standpoint, it’s important to have background knowledge of the continent. Please add your favourite African if I’ve missed your legend.
